What is your purpose?
Itβs a question we all ask ourselves, but few can answer. But that doesnβt mean you canβt find it! And itβs not as hard as you think.
In this blog, you will learn everything you need to know to find meaning in your life, achieve your goals and live the life of your dreams.
Most people donβt know what their lifeβs purpose is. Iβm not saying that they havenβt found it yet or that theyβre stuck in some rut and canβt get out of it. My point is that most people donβt even know what the meaning of their lives should be, let alone how to find it. Many of us are still searching for our purpose. We often feel like we are missing something, but we donβt know what that βsomethingβ might be! So let me share with you some exercises that helped me discover my true calling.

1. Start thinking about your passions
Think about your passions.
What are your hobbies?
What do you like to read about?
What do you like to watch on TV?
Do you have any special, exciting interests that make it easy to get out of bed in the morning?
If so, those might be good places to start looking for what drives your inner motivation and passion.
2. Think about your most deep values and beliefs
You have many values, but letβs start with a few. Some examples could be justice, fairness, equality, and freedom. Values are the principles that guide your actions in life. They help you make decisions when confronted with challenges or difficult choices. They may be personal and subjective, but they can also be universal. Things like truth, beauty, and justice (all of which mean different things to different people).
Itβs essential to do this step because it helps flesh out what matters most to you as an individual (and even as a group). Once you know your values, whether from your family, religion, or elsewhere, they will help guide your journey!
3. Write down what you would do with your life if money were no object
Write down what you would do with your life if money were no object.
Do this every day for one month, and then look back at the list. What did you write? If itβs not a complete list, add to it. The more detailed and specific your answers are, the better. This way, you can find out whether you have a life purpose. It provides an idea of what matters most to you and what actions will fulfill those needs.
This exercise is about being realistic. Donβt write things like βIβm going to be a famous actorβ or βIβm going to become president.β These are lofty ambitions, but they arenβt realistic ones β at least for most people! Instead, write things like βI want my work/talents/skills put to good useβ. This could mean anything from working at an animal shelter helping dogs find loving homes; volunteering at church; creating art; teaching children how to read music on the piano β anything!
4. Ask yourself how you want to be remembered when youβre gone
To find your purpose in life, you must think about how you want others (and yourself) to remember your existence. You donβt need a terminal diagnosis or a tragic ending for this question to be applicable. Think of something as simple as leaving an impression on someone elseβs life. What kind of mark do you hope will remain? Would their memory of having known you fill them with warmth and happiness? Or would they feel regretful or bitter? What kind of legacy are you creating for the future generations who will come after us? If there is one thing we have control over, itβs our legacy and how those around us will remember us.
The more specific these ideas are, the easier it will be for you to use them as touchstones in life.
5. See where thereβs alignment with what the world needs
The world needs your gifts, but itβs hard to know what those gifts are if you donβt know what the world needs.
To find out what the world needs, ask yourself these questions:
What is my unique talent or skill that people want and need?
What could I do with my skills that would make a difference in the lives of others?
How can I help more people through my passion and expertise?
What excites me about helping to solve problems in this world, not only for myself but for other people?
Once you know what the world needs, you can make a difference by giving back. But remember that itβs not about donating money, time, or resources. Itβs about sharing your gifts with others in a way that makes their lives better.
6. Knowing your purpose will give you focus, direction and motivation
Once you have identified your purpose, it will provide you with a focus and direction. You will be able to make decisions with clarity. When faced with different opportunities or challenges, ask yourself if they align with your purpose.
When you are clear about what your purpose is and where you want to go in life, then motivation becomes easier. There is a north star that you can focus on.
Knowing what drives you gives you something that will last long. You donβt burn out when you work toward a short-term goal and realize it wasnβt as fulfilling as expected. An example is chasing money only to find that you arenβt happy when you have more than enough.
Conclusion
Hopefully, I was able to help you figure out your purpose in life. If youβre still struggling with it, donβt worry! It takes time and patience to discover oneβs true calling. Remember that everyone has different skills and passions. So there are many ways to find your purpose in life. The most important thing? Donβt give up! You can do it if you try hard enough :)
Cheers,
Christian
